Fifth Third Bank and Cedarville University
Introduce Campus Card Program - 9/6/11
Cincinnati – Fifth Third Bank and Cedarville University announced today the introduction of
the cedarville1card, a combined campus ID and debit card for students, faculty and staff.
The cedarville1card is the first campus card program for both Fifth Third Bank and
Cedarville University and will allow cardholders to use their campus ID for ATM and PIN-
based debit card transactions both on and off campus.
Cedarville University is located in Cedarville, Ohio with an enrollment of more than 3,200
undergraduate and graduate students. Fifth Third Bank currently operates two ATMs on
the 400-acre campus.
"We are excited to expand our relationship with Cedarville University and introduce our very first campus card program," said Jon Groch,
senior vice president and director of Bankcard Services for Fifth Third Bank. "The cedarville1card will offer users convenient access to
their money through a card they already carry for campus access and activities." Groch adds that the Bank expects to partner with
additional schools to expand its campus card program portfolio.
"The cedarville1card allows us to expand the functionality of our campus ID, providing convenience for our students," said Cedarville
University Director of Accounting Mark Biddinger. "It also allows us to streamline our payment operations and disburse funds including
financial aid directly to a student’s checking account."
The cards are now available beginning with the fall 2011 semester. To use the cedarville1card as a debit card, cardholders will need to
link to a Fifth Third Bank checking account.
